ABOUT US

Who are we?

You might recognize us as Sana and Will from TikTok and YouTube, going by the handle @Salehfamily. Our content is all about showcasing the fun and vibrant side of our family, celebrating our unique mix of cultures, and sharing insights into our religion. As a mixed-culture couple from the Toronto area in Canada, we're all about spreading positivity and bringing smiles to people's faces.

Now, let's talk family – we're the proud parents of three awesome kiddos, our junior business associates - Aaminah, Zaynab. and Yusuf They're not just our kids; they're the inspiration behind our hijab line.

Originally from beautiful British Columbia, Canada - we made the move to Ontario at the beginning of 2019, and we've wholeheartedly embraced it as our new home. Join us on our journey of laughter, love, and cultural richness!

Why did we start Lala Hijabs?

Sana's journey in finding vibrant and unique pieces for her hijab collection had its challenges. She always craved colorful, high-quality hijabs, sensing a gap in the market. Then, in the summer of 2020, the tie-dye trend made a comeback, and Sana felt an undeniable urge to make it her own. She created her first hijab, a pink and purple tie-dye beauty, which she rocked nearly every day. Soon, people started asking where they could get one.

And just like that, our vision was born. We took that one tie-dye hijab and ran with it, creating a whole range of color combinations and designs that became the essence of Lala Hijabs. Since then, we've expanded our offerings to include new product lines featuring top-notch fabrics, impeccable stitching, and even a line of comfy maxi dresses— all inspired by a commitment to comfort, practicality, and everyday wear.

Where did the name Lala Hijabs come from?

The inception of the name Lala Hijabs is a tale woven within our family. Our quest for the perfect name for our hijab company led us to a delightful source—our eldest daughter, Aaminah, a mere five years old at the time. Faced with a giant list of potential names and unable to reach an agreement amongst each other, we turned to her for inspiration. Without hesitation, Aaminah beamed and declared that she would name the company, "Lala Hijabs!" And so, our brand found its identity.

From that spontaneous moment, Will ingeniously distilled the essence of our vision and crafted the empowering slogan, "Live Authentic Love Always," drawing inspiration from the four letters that make up the heart of Lala. Our name not only carries the charm of its origin but also encapsulates the spirit of authenticity and enduring love that defines our brand.

What makes us different?

From the very beginning, our vision has been to redefine the norm. Beyond introducing the best of the best hijabs and dresses to the market, we proudly stand as pioneers in adopting sustainable practices within the hijab industry. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to eco-friendliness—each of our meticulously crafted hijabs is personally packaged using paper, previously recycled bags, and compostable materials, steering clear of conventional plastic. We extend this eco-conscious ethos to our customers, encouraging them to join us in this impactful endeavor. Together, our collective efforts can truly make a difference.

At the heart of our brand lies a deep-rooted commitment to charity. We channel a portion of profits from select product lines towards constructing water wells across the globe. Partnering with the esteemed non-profit organization Human Concern International, we are grateful for every contribution that aids us in creating positive change. Thank you for being a part of our journey to make a meaningful impact in this world.

Beautiful hijabs

Very beautiful and good size hijabs, the material is nice and soft. Quick shipping.

I love the colour but it’s not worth $99. I received it with loose threads coming out.

Underscarf

The undercap seems to have shrunk a little. It does not have enough cloth to comfortably cover long hair. I ordered undercap last year and it was amazing put this year unfortunately its not the same.

No more headaches, saves hairline

I had these ones before now ordered again from LaLa hijabs. These are easy on hair, adjustable and only under scarves that don't give me headaches. Thank you :)

Shrunk even though I dried it on low heat

I thought washing it in on my delicate cycle in cold water and a low heat tumble would be ok but it shrank so bad I can't wear it anymore :(. Sooo disappointed as I loved the dress but only got to wear it a few times. Maybe the care label should be updated to say hand wash or dry clean only?

Absolutely Love The Hijab

I have wanted to join the leopard-printed hijab trend, but I personally prefer a subtle, dark-coloured hijab. The leopard hijab from Lala was absolutely perfect and exactly what I was looking for.

The best part is that the hijab flows and sits so nicely, so I didn’t have to fix it at all throughout the day. The material was not see-through, which is really hard to find in modal hijabs!
